About Dominos
The history of Domino’s Pizza started in 1960 when two brothers Tom and James Monaghan bought a small pizza parlour in Michigan, Ypsilanti at that time which was known as DomiNick’s. When Jim sold his portion and got a Volkswagen Beetle in exchange, Tom changed the name to Domino’s in 1965 after a delivery man suggested it.
The three dots on its logo symbolized the three outlets when the firm was started and the intention was to add more dots as the outlets increased, although this concept was never implemented.
Domino’s grew very fast, started opening outlets in other countries in 1983 and changed its menu to suit the countries’ palate. It is famous for innovation, and it started online ordering in the early 1990s and Domino’s Tracker in 2008. Today it has over 18,000 outlets in over 100 countries and is famous for its technologically advanced delivery services and menu diversification.
